Batam yang kecik tu ada 7 golf courses. Southlink (18), Tering Bay (18), Indah Puri (18), Batam Hill (18), Sukajadi (18), Palm Spring (9) and Tamarin Santana (9). I had played at Southlink, Tering Bay and Indah Puri. Indah Puri is my favourite sebab course dia open, tak banyak semak dan overlooking S'pore.
The rate is in S'pore dollars. For 18 holes weekday is about S$90 (green fee, buggy and caddy) and weekend S$150 (green fee, buggy and caddy). Most golf courses have their own chalet, apartment or condo. However, a number of them packaged it with the local hotels particularly for weekdays. Package for 2D/1 nite with hotel stay, 2x18 holes (green fee, buggy, caddy inclusive) is offered at S$180 per package. Fireflyz offers 3D/2N package with 2 x 18 holes at RM710.
The trick when playing in Batam is to come early in the morning and beat the Singapore crowd on weekdays. Than you can negotiate. Coming from Kukup is shorter and cheaper than from Setulang. Bila gi Batam, I normally will go through Kukup. Sampai Kukup around 12.00 noon, makan seafood then tee-off kat Kukup Golf Club at 2.00 pm (warm-up). Lepas Kukup cross over to Batam. Malam karaoke to relax and cool down. What happen kat karaoke and after karaoke, you have to PM me. Esok pagi2 tee-off, lunch then petang tee-off lagi. There are also courses that offer packages with unlimited round (pukul sampai puas...)
Oh ya.....caddy. If you are looking for caddy macam bintang sinetron, forget Batam. Those caddies are only available in Bogor Raya, Moderen, Bukit Darmo etc. Caddies here are those with bra and braless. Take your pick. In Batam, the sinetron look are in karaoke joints.
Nowaitu kena betul. Kalau nak daytime golfing, those were my experience. Nite golfing tak ada lagi...........
