Had an opportunity to play at KLGCC today... My personal opinion? Its an over-rated golf course for the kind of atrocious green fees that they're charging ... Luckily for me, I had complimentary vouchers ... So would I pay to play there again? ... Nope!!!
teruk sgt kerr sifu??
Taklah teruk ... Mmg tempat cantik, fairway dia cantik, clubhouse lagi lah cantik (tapi changing room, saya rasa KGSAS lebih kurang sama kot), tempat parking bertingkat-tingkat, ada shuttle service lagi pulak tu dan kalau nak turun ke changing room 1 tingkat kat bawah pun siap ada lift, semua security kat sana siap "tabik" tiap kali jumpa ko (penat weii nak kena tabik bailk!!) .......
Taapiiii nie semua-lah yg menjadikan "green fees" kat sini mahal giler .. So u are not paying only for the "green fees" .. BUT for the other "extras' .... yg pada pendapat saya yg hina dina ini, kebanyakan daripada pencinta golf di tanah air kita, the majoriti, tak mampu!! ...
So KLGCC is only for the select privileged few, the bourgeois classes of our society who don't mind paying for all these other extras in the name of "green fees". But for me .... saya tak sanggup!!!
But then again, this is my personal opinion ...
I think don't golf courses such as these can do much to actually promote the level of golf amongst the "majority" of local golfing enthusiast, for one simple reason, most of us can't afford it!!!
To promote this great game of golf, firstly .. it has to be accessible to the general public. And to make it accessible, then it has to be affordable ... Why? It is only then can you tap on a wider pool of talents ...
Expensive golf courses such as these are the playing fields for the minority rich and a select privileged few. Cosmetically it looks good but all this only regresses us back to feudalistic era ...
Common sense will tell us that ... the smaller the pool, the less talent we can tap on. If we look towards the more advance golfing nations, golf is affordable. In countries like Australia and the US, majority of the clubhouses ... sempoi aja, tapi fairways diaorg ... Perghhh!!! Which means, they allocate more on building better golf courses than on building cosmetically redundant clubhouses ...
In countries like Korea and Japan, golfing memang mahal, so much so that diaorg terpaksa look outside to other countries for cheaper alternatives to conduct the Junior programs ... Jgn kita esok jadi camni dah lah!!!
My 2 rupiahs!!!
