RULES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL
1. The Cyberjaya Charity Golf Open 2009 is the first premier golf tournament in Cyberjaya Sports Calendar.
VENUE AND DATE
2. The Tournament shall be played One day event (19TH December 2009) at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club (KGSAAS) Shah Alam,Selangor
ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
3. The Tournament shall be managed by the Organizing Committee (K Event and Cyberview Sdn Bhd) of the Cyberjaya Charity Golf Open 2009 whose decision shall be final on all matters pertaining to the championship.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY
4. The schedule of play shall be as follows:
a Saturday 19th December 2009
(6.30 am-8.00 am) Registration,Breakfast and Short Gun Start.
(2.00 pm-3.00 pm) Lunch & Prize Presentation .
RULES OF PLAY
5. All play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club St. Andrews and the Local Rules approved by the Organizing Committee.
ELIGIBILITY
6. The Tournament is open to male and female players who work and live in Cyberjaya, amateur golfers in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status issued by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews with a maximum USGA Handicap of 24 & below for Men and 36 & below for ladies.
7. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject any entry without giving any reason.
THE TOURNAMENT
8. The Tournament shall be decided by System 36 (Stableford point) 18 holes each subject to the committee’s right in the event of circumstances which make the playing of 18 holes impracticable, to cancel any rounds at its discretion.
9. TIES - In the event of a tie for 1st or any other place, the tie shall be decided by a count back on lowest handicap or based on last 9th.6th and 3rd hole if there’s a ties.
10. Entries must be accompanied by the entry fee of RM 350.00 payable by Cheque or Money Order made payable to “CYBERVIEW SDN BHD”. Fees inclusive of green fees,buggy,insurance, breakfast and lunch.
11. Prizes will be awarded as follow:
a. Medal A ( 0-12 h’cap) - 5 best nett scores.
b. Medal B (13-18 h’cap) - 10 best nett scores
c. Medal B (19-24 h’cap) - 10 best nett scores
d. Ladies - 3 best nett scores
e. VIP and Sponsors - 4 best nett scores
f. Sponsors - 4 best nett scores
g. Nearest to pin - 2 Prizes
h. Longest Drive - 1 Prize
i. Lucky Draws - 10 Prizes
CLOSING DATE
12. All entries are to be made on the official Entry Form and must reach the Organizing Committee’s office on first come first basis by the 4th December 2009 as deemed appropriate by the Organizing Committee.
WITHDRAWAL
13. Withdrawal from the Tournament will not be entertained after 12th December 2009 and entry fees will not be refunded if withdrawal is made after 12th December 2009.
DRAW AND STARTING TIMES
14. Play shall be in group of three or four.
15. The player shall start at the time laid down by the Organizing Committee (Short Gun Start). In the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, if a player arrives at his starting point ready to play within five minutes after his starting time the penalty for failure to start on time shall be TWO STROKES at the starting hole instead of disqualification. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is DISQUALIFICATION.
PACE OF PLAY
16. The attention of players is drawn to Rule 6-7 regarding undue delay. In the interest of fair play, the committee will not hesitate to impose the penalties provided by the Rule. The maximum time allotted for completion of 18 holes to be determined by the Organizing Committee.
17. The following conditions shall be apply under Rule 33-1. If a group is observed to be out of position, i.e. it has lost substantially more than its starting interval or in the case of the first flight has taken in the opinion of the Tournament Director, an unacceptable amount of time to play any part of the golf course, the following action will be taken.
a. The group is liable to be timed without warning.
b. From the commencement of any timing, if any player exceeds 50
seconds on a “first to play shot” or 40 seconds if it is a “second or third to play shot’’ he shall be deemed to have a “ bad time”.
Penalty for breach of condition:
a. One bad time - Warning from official and told that if he has a
further bad time he will be penalized
b. Two bad times - One stroke penalty.
c. Three bad times - Further penalty of two strokes
d. Four bad times - Disqualification.
A player whose group is timed will have a bad time carried forward in the round even if the group subsequently arrives back in position or within time as may be specified by the Tournament Director.
APPROVED BALLS
18. Only golf balls named on the current List of Conforming Golf balls issued by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews may be used. Penalty for use of brand not listed: DISQUALIFICATION.
DISPUTES AND DOUBTFUL POINTS
19. Any dispute or doubtful point on the Rules shall be referred to the Committee as soon as possible on completion of the round and in any case not later than 15 minutes after completing the round.
HANDPHONES
20. Kindly switch your handphones to Silent Mode.
DECISION
21. If Referee had been appointed by the Committee, his decision is final (Rule 34-2).
22. In the absence of a Referee, any dispute or doubtful point on the Rules shall be referred to the Committee whose decision shall be final (Rule 34-3).
INDEMNITY/LIABILITIES
23. The Organizing Committee, will not be responsible for any loss, damage or harm or any form of injuries that the participants of the tournament may suffer as a result of their participation in this tournament.
