A quirky arrangement in which the course is located inland about 8km away from its main clubhouse which is downtown.
The only 18 holes course in and around Kota Bahru, to reach there, go towards the airport and turn right into ‘Taman Okid’ housing area. It is nestled in between an industrial area, a spread of higher learning complexes, The Police HQ and a prison. There are ample signboards to lead you to the golf course. If all else fail, a smile always yield helpful directions from locals.
According to the caddy, the course is built on an ancient driedup riverbed or waterway. This explains the sandy characteristics of the course. There is a pond which is 24ft deep which further enforce the caddie’s fact.
Positively, I view the compacted sandy soil as an incentive to play an ‘accurate’ game whereby clean pickup and precise swings are rewarded. Big divots are rare.
Grass wise, the course is matured enough and well taken care off with no signs of parched or naked patches. This also reduces the harshness of and bad clubhead contacts.
A fairly uncomplicated layout, the flat fairway hides the streams and longkangs. Bunkers are only visible by their lips and water hazards are small.
Played there last Friday (a weekend). The opposite of Klang Valley, there were no ‘hoards’ of hungry golfers so it was a relaxing round with nary a trouble with the front of back flights.

So far ok kat situ tapi fairwaynya agak berpasir, maklumlah dekat dgn pantai.
Kena main clean je. permukaan fairway rata je.
