Need Advice!
« on: October 03, 2011, 11:03:15 PM »
Hi fellow bros,

I am a 6' average built, high handicapper 24 coming back to the game. Longest iron is 4

Wondering which is better iron set to invest in ?

Taylormade R9 iron set steel KBS 90gm
vs
Taylormade Burner 1.0 steel Burner 85gm
vs
Maruman Majesty VJ steel NS Pro 950
vs
Callaway Diablo Edge steel True temper 105gm

What are the recommendations from my fellow golfers ?
Driver: Taylormade Aeroburner 10.5 Stiff
Woods: Taylormade R15 3 & 5 wood
Rescue: cobra flyz 3-4U Rescue
Iron: Cobra 5-P
Wedge: Taylormade tour preferred 52 56 60
Putter: Titleist Scotty Newport 2

Happy golfing fellow buddies :)

the selection of the club is based on how comfortable u r with it..u nd to test all of the sets and feels whether it suit u or not..some of the sets u mentioned here hv lighter shaft whilst there is also heavier shaft..take ur time to test n get the feel..unless u got extra moolah, then, just go to the pro shop and do some testing..they should be able to advice u what kind of shaft and weight that is suitable with ur swing n bodybuilt.. ;)
Bila la nak bagus nie..

eugene san, if want my 2 cent opinion, go for either callaway or maruman coz TM is like computer or hand phone, the minute u bounght it by the next day or week a new model been release, is not that I hate TM but the changes is too much. but anyway it's ur money & ur feeling towards the  game is the main concern, after all it's only my 2 cent opinion. lu pikir lah sendiri!!!

buy a club like buying a car also....so if you think you want the club stay at yours bag a long long long time then buy maruman @ callaway...if you want change every month then you must think to buy tm coz easy to re-sale....what ever decision defend u pocketlah....adios

Thumbs up to all of you !!!

Thank you for sharing. I has been almost 3 years since I played
I can't even swing consistantly on driving range 6/10 shots go straight n right
First most important thing to do is to practice or perhaps get a pro to fix my problem

As for golf set there are few good n cheap sets to select from ? Tested below :-

Callaway X 24 Hot - good feel but steel uniflex shaft is rather heavy and stiff @ RM 2,250

Mizuno JPX 800 - lovely solid impact and launch steel NS Pro 950 @ RM 2,500 onwards

Friend recommended ONOFF Tungsten for extra distance but feels heavy

Hate it when the test area is too near n crampped can't see trajectory n distance of swing
