Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was sworn in as Malaysia's sixth prime minister and he takes over from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who stepped down after leading the country for over five years.
Najib took his oath of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abdidin at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, Abdullah and his wife, Jean Abdullah received the nation's highest award, Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (SMN) ( and Jean the Seri Setia Mahkota) award, which carry the title "Tun" from Tuanku Mizan at Istana Negara.
