Dear Kakigolfers,
To those who wants to stay overnite (28/1/2011) but prefer cheaper accomodation, there are a number of cheap hotels i.e. the shophouse type. You can find a number of these hotels at Station 18, Air Putih (15 mins to CWS) 2 nos. in Batu Gajah (10 mins to CWS) and 1 nos. in Seri Iskandar (20 min. to CWS). Since all of them are in town, makan is easy. Hypermarket are available in Station 18 (Tesco) and Batu Gajah (TF). I expect the tariff is under RM100 per nite.
There are also homestays especially in Seri Iskandar that can take in 8 pax per house at RM150 per nite. Again, the homestays are on top of shophouses and in town so makan is no problem.
If you want to have a practice hit at the driving range, you can do it at CWS itself. Kelab Golf Kinta at Batu Gajah does not have a driving range but there is one nearby in Bemban dubbed The Royal Bemban. So, you can do your practice there but be careful not to hit any of the cows that stray about.
For food, there are a lot of warungs tom yam around especially at nite. Wherever you see coloured lights by the roadside ala fun fair, it must be warung tom yam. There are warungs with karaoke (RM1 - RM1.50 per song) and one with live band (Seri Iskandar) for you to show your talent. In Station 18, you can find the normal fast food such as McDonald, KFC, Pizza Hut, Merry Brown etc.
If you are looking for massage and spa, CWS has one otherwise Ipoh. In Ipoh not only Ipoh mali but Myanmar, Vietnam, PRC, Taiwan, Thailand etc. But all these at your own risk should you got featured in TV3's 999.
Hope this tips help you in your decision to jointer G2G on 29/1/2011.
