I guess you will have an unfair advantage at Pantai Lagenda("PL"), hehe!! Local knowledge, 'kan?
I had the fortune of playing there last week and I would like to share with fellow kakigolfers what you can expect from the golf outing (other than the Get Together).
PL has 2 9's, the "Links" and "Forest"
If you play off the GOLD tee box you would cover at least 6647 metres (IN 3327m and OUT 3320m).
BLUE is 6090 m (IN 3039m and OUT 3051m)
whilst the ladies RED is 4967m (IN 2468m and OUT 2499m)
PL is a Championship Links course.
So memang very challenging.
The Score Card cover reads "A Test of Skills"........Unpredictable wind conditions and strategically placed bunkers and natural water hazards. Very true... I lost 10 balls into the rough (Natural Habitat areas, read: tempat Ular, babi hutan, civet or wild cat, burung2, etc) and into the numerous lakes....
Please note that the local rule doesn't allow for buggies to be driven into the rough (natural habitat) and there's a 2 stroke penalty if you do.
You are expected to play a provisional ball if you hit a bad slice or a hook.
When I was there last week the greens had a lot of "kurap".
Hopefully it will be ready for competition by next weekend.
The weather was very hot and conditions was then very dry (no hujan for some time).
If the same conditions prevail, then expect your ball to run.
Measurement is to the centre of green.
Pak Zainol has chosen a very challenging course as a G2G venue (if you can keep your ball on the fairway).
